Importance of Ram Navami Pooja

Ram Navami is being celebrated on the occasion of birth anniversary of Sri Rama, seventh incarnation of the Lord Vishnu. Ram Navami falls on the ninth day of bright fortnight (chaitra) during the month of April. Ram Navami Pooja is accomplished with the worship of Lord Hanuman for unflinching devotion to Lord Rama. Lord Rama took birth on earth in the form of human being on the land of Ayodhya, when Lord Vishnu saw the destruction on the earth by the invincible Ravana. During the Ram Navami Pooja all the temples are being decorated and the idols of Lord Rama, Goddess Sita, Laxman and Hanuman are being decorated by making them to wear new clothes and offering flowers to them.

There is no specific ritual to perform Ram Navami Puja. Most of the devotees prefer to observe full day fast on this day. Ram Navami Pooja is started by getting up early in the morning and taking the bath. The mandap is being set in the north side of the house and vedi is made in the middle.
