Understanding the Significance of Chaitra Navratri Online Puja
Exploring the Importance of Chaitra Navratri Pooja
Chaitra Navratri Pooja marks the commencement of summer and winter, a pivotal juncture influenced by climatic and solar dynamics. According to the Hindu lunar calendar, these periods offer a sacred opportunity to honour the Divine Mother. Navratri, meaning ‘nine nights,’ entails the worship of nine forms of Shakti, the divine feminine energy, spanning over nine nights and ten days. The manifestations of Shakti include Shailputri, Brahmcharni, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayani, Kalratri, Mahagauri, and Siddhidatri. Chaitra Navratri specifically initiates on the first day of Ashwani during the bright fortnight, culminating with the worship of Goddess Durga, Vijay Ashtami, and Maha Navami.
Performing Online Chaitra Navratri Pooja
To commence the pooja, one must bathe in the morning and don new attire. The ritual begins with filling the kalash with water and adorning it with mango leaves while tying a moli around its pitcher. Maa Durga’s idol or image is placed in the pooja room and adorned with roli, chawal, flowers, kumkum, and belpatra. A lump of burning coal is then added to a clay pot and ghee is poured over it, with the option of using Kapoor to aid combustion. Ghee must be intermittently added to sustain the flame throughout the pooja. Upon completion, one encircles the flame thrice, joining their hands in reverence, and may recite Durga Saptashati or Devi Kavach.
