Intrigued by her dedication, the goddesses beseeched their husbands—Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva—to test Anusuya’s commitment by asking her to offer alms unclothed. Agreeing to the test, the divine trinity visited Anusuya in the guise of Sanyasis when Atri was absent. Anusuya, bound by her devotion, transformed the trinity into infants and offered alms without hesitation. Atri later discovered the infants’ divine nature, leading to the blessing of a child embodying the three gods, henceforth known as Dattatreya, marking the inception of Dattatreya Jayanti.
