Festival of MahaShivratri Shiva Rudra Abhishekam date 17 February 2015
The festival of Shivratri is celebrated every year on the Trayodashi of Falgun Krishna Paksha. In 2015, this festival will be observed on 17th February and people will keep fasts on this day. The important thing or specialty of this fast is that the people of every age group can observe this fast. On this day, many people travel just to have the vision of Shivlinga, because the vision of Lord Shiva on this day is considered to be very auspicious. This day is celebrated as the MahaUtsav because on this day god Bolenath got married to MaaParvati.
People believe that on
this day only the goddess Ganga got the shelter in the hairs of the Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva is the god who created the three worlds for the people: heaven, hell and mrityu. People keeping fasts on this day are considered to be very auspicious because devotees can attain salvation. The individual welfare is done by keeping the fast. All sorts of problems and doshas are being removed from the life of an individual and the life is spent with peace and happiness. The ancestral dosha is also removed from the life of an individual and all the sins are being reduced by keeping this fast. All the desires and wishes of the devotees are fulfilled by the Lord Shiva. Fasts kept on this day with full of devotion and dedication brings the prosperity, wealth and all materialistic comforts in the life.
The sages say that the Lord Shiva should be worshipped with clean mind and soul so that all the desires and wishes can be reached to the Lord Shiva. The lord Shiva is also refereed with the name Neelkanth and Vishwanathan. People who are suffering from the problem of money or food are being removed and they attain the food and wealth so that they can live their life. The life is motivated for the good work and the true wisdom is achieved from the Lord Shiva.
The PradoshKaal on this day is considered to be very auspicious because on this Kaal only the Lord Shiva got married and he danced happily in this period. The time of PradoshKaal is of 2 hours and 24 minutes after the sunset. People who worship the Lord Shiva during this Kaalare considered to be very beneficial because all the wishes and desires come true. The ShivratriJagran is also considered to be very beneficial on this day and on this day only the evolution of the 12 Jyotirlinga took place. The proper rituals are also followed on this day so that the Lord Shaiva can be pleased and can impart his blessings to the devotees. All the health problems are also removed on this day and the effect of Rahu and Ketu on the horoscope is also diminished to a great extent.
