Diwali Puja 2016 : How to do Ganesha and Laxmi Puja
Diwali Puja is mainly a five day festival which is going to be celebrated from 16th oct, 2015 to 21th oct, 2017. Ganesha and Laxmi Puja is considered to be most significant and fruitful Puja during Diwali. Lord Ganesha and Goddess Laxmi bless their devotees with protection from obstacles and fills the joy of life with wealth and prosperity. The Diwali Puja brings the positive environment at home and happiness among the relatives and family members. The Diwali festival is celebrated with keen and happiness along with the different people from different community. It brings them close and enjoy the celebrations with great zeal.
During Diwali celebrations, people decorate their home with lights and follow the Diwali Puja with all the rituals for seeking the blessings of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Laxmi. The Ganesha and Laxmi Puja will be done on 19th oct, 2017 on available Choghadiya Muhurata during Diwali this year. There different Muhurata available in morning, afternoon, and evening. As per availability of time, Laxmi Puja can be performed with rituals. The Laxmi Puja at the evening Muhurata his considered to be most auspicious for seeking the blessings of Goddess Laxmi.

For performing Puja on Diwali, people awake early in fresh morning and take blessings from their ancestors or elderly family members. Generally, the devotees keep fast though out the day and break their fast after the Laxmi Puja in the late evening.
How to perform Ganesha and Laxmi Puja
People start decorating their house and Puja sthal with leaves of Ashoka tree, banana tree before the Laxmi Puja. The Puja should be started on prescribed auspicious Choghadiya in the evening after sunset. Then a Kalash covered with the unpeeled coconuts is kept near to the Puja sthal at home. The idols of Lord Ganesha, Goddess Laxmi and Saraswati are kept on the chowki covered with the red cloth and a silver coin on chowki. Preparation of Navagrah is to be started next nearer to the Chowki on white cloth with akshata i.e. little unbroken rice.
At first, Lord Ganesha is worshiped who removes all the obstacles that may come during the Laxmi Puja with following all the rituals. The mantras are enchanted with full devotion and praying Lord Ganesha. After which, Laxmi Pujan is started in which Goddess Laxmi is worshiped in her three forms i.e. Mahalaxmi the Goddess of wealth and money, Mahasaraswati the Goddess of knowledge and Mahakali, the goddess of destroyer of evil with rituals. The different mantras are enchanted to please respective Goddess and the prayers are made to keep blessing on themselves. Lord Kuber is worshiped who is the treasurer of gods. His blessings are also important in terms of matter related to the money. The Laxmi Pujan performed on auspicious Choghadiya gives a fruitful result for the devotees.
