Basant Panchami 2015

The Basant Panchami is celebrated on 24th January 2015. During this Panchami the yellow Sarso is being grown or the mustard flower and this becomes very sensational and eye catching. You will be able to see the bed of yellow as long as your vision is capable of.  The Basant Panchami is also known as Vasant Panchami and this festival is mostly celebrated in the northern region of India. This is the only festival which marks the beginning of the spring season and this is the most awaited season. According to the Hindu calendar, this day will be celebrated on the fifth day of Maagh. The festival of the Basant Panchami itself states about the date of the Basant Panchami. The celebration is going to be very good as this festive is celebrated with full joy and enjoyment. The Basant Panchami is mostly celebrated in the region Punjab and Haryana as this festival is mostly celebrated by the Punjabis and Sikhs. This festival is breathtaking festival.

On this day people generally wears the cloth of yellow color because this day is the significance of yellow color as in spring season all the flowers are of yellow color. The yellow color is of utter importance to everyone. People use to wear different shades of yellow color and use to make delicious sweets and foods for the guests. This festival is considered to be the first festival of the year. During this day, all the spring season songs are sung and the festival is celebrated with joy. On this day, all the mustard fields look like of golden color. In most parts of the region of India the fair is organized on this day in order to celebrate the Vasant Panchami. On this day people go with their families outside and celebrate the day. The spring season marks the beginning of the new life of the plants and the earth looks greener. Likewise, people bring the happiness and positivity in their life so that they can live the life with happiness and harmony.

Basant Panchami also commemorates the birthday of the Goddess Saraswati, Goddess of education, art and knowledge. She is the wife of Lord Brahma who created the world. It is also believed that Goddess  brought the voice on the earth and due to this people were able to express their feelings with each other. In order to achieve the knowledge, people pray to the Goddess in order to seek wisdom. This festival is considered to be very lively as people play the songs and dance on this day. On this day, people fly the kites and participate in the competitions.
